Opal Lorraine Rockford, 78, a resident of Salem, passed away on March 6, 2017, at home.
She was born on August 21, 1938, the eldest of 5 children to Carl and Pansy (Merriman) Johnson in Emmett, Idaho. She lived many places growing up, Silverton, Brownsville, and Dallas, but it was in Brownsvile where she had her precious memories. After she graduated from Dallas High School, she worked for the phone company as a switchboard operator. She was also a homemaker, mother, and bookkeeper. She loved to decorate plates, crochet, macramé, calligraphy, and also loved bowling....

After she graduated from Dallas High School, she worked for the phone company as a switchboard operator. She was also a homemaker, mother, and bookkeeper. She loved to decorate plates, crochet, macramé, calligraphy, and also loved bowling. She enjoyed cooking and baking as well. She was a member of the People's Church in Salem, a member of the Soroptomists in Lakeview, Assembly of God Church in Anchorage, AK, and also was a member of the Grange.
She is survived by 3 children Wendy Colleen Rockford, Stephanie Kay Rockford, Patrick Troy Rockford; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Viewing/ visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, from 3-6 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 12:30pm at the People's Church in Salem. Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors is entrusted with arrangements.
