Helen Signa Peterson, a resident of Salem, Oregon, died on March 23, 2015 in Salem. She was 93 years of age.

Helen was born on November 19, 1921 in Velva, North Dakota and was the daughter of Carl and Thea (Nelson) Loken. She attended school in North Dakota an on October 5, 1940 she married George Peterson in a small town in Eastern Montana.

In 1952, they moved out west settling in Norwalk, California where Helen worked as a Quality Control Specialist for Dynamic Air. In 1970 they moved to Salem where...

Helen was born on November 19, 1921 in Velva, North Dakota and was the daughter of Carl and Thea (Nelson) Loken. She attended school in North Dakota an on October 5, 1940 she married George Peterson in a small town in Eastern Montana.

In 1952, they moved out west settling in Norwalk, California where Helen worked as a Quality Control Specialist for Dynamic Air. In 1970 they moved to Salem where she worked for Madrona Hills Assisted Living as a caregiver. She retired in 1980.

Helen was a hard worker; very determined and smart with her decisions. She loved spending time with her family, gardening and sewing. She was also famous for baking the best buns around. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Donna (husband, Ron) Brusven of Madras, grandchildren, Randy (wife, Linda) Brusven of Silverton and Debbie (husband, Joe) Baisle of Echo, Oregon and great grandchildren, Daniel, Luke, Sierra, Sheyenne and Ronan. Her husband, George preceded her in death in 2013, just shy of the couple celebrating their 74th wedding anniversary. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.

A family graveside service will be held at Mount Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras, Oregon. Contributions may be made in memory of Helen to Willamette Valley Hospice. Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
